San Diego State University, CA

Recently, the San Diego State University (SDSU) has completed a massive construction project. This included building the brand new Snapdragon Stadium as a home for their Aztecs football team and about 80 acres of green space for the community. This is just the first phase in “Mission Valley”, with more academic research space, residential housing and a conference center to be built in the future.

As SDSU was designing the new parks area, our IPL Series solar luminaires were integrated into the original design of this usable green space from the beginning. The included 2 mile pedestrian and bike trail needed to be well lit and accessible to the community, while keeping the surrounding environment in mind. River Park was built from the ground up, but our wireless solar lights were chosen to reduce carbon footprint and save costs on wiring installation.
