Position Overview

As the Customer Support Technologist, you will support 3 teams: Product Development, Technical Support and Manufacturing. Helping our customers will be your top priority. You will be responsible for providing technical support, managing RMA intake, troubleshooting returned products, and documenting what we learned from these issues. You will also assist in testing new products, maintaining manufacturing test equipment while contributing to creating the best solar lights available.

Position Qualifications & Requirements

  • Post-secondary Diploma in Electronics, Electrical or Electro-Mechanical technology;
  • 1 year of experience as a Production Technologist, Electronics technician;
  • Understanding drawings and schematics;
  • Experience populating PCBs, soldering, and wiring an asset
  • Hands-on experience troubleshooting electronic boards and assemblies, including analog circuits
  • Troubleshooting electronics with a multimeter, etc;
  • Work under minimum supervision in a team and independently;
  • Good attention to detail when following written and verbal instructions;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills;

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Test finished products;
  • Create & maintain production records of assembly, test & calibrations;
  • Service & troubleshoot products returning to First Light Technologies from customers;
  • Assist with prototype development, assembly, and testing;
  • Maintain and update assembly & test instructions as required;
  • You will be responsible for the electrical aspects of production, assuring quality control and designing requirements on:
    • Other Electrical / Electronic production tasks.
    • Material sourcing for prototyping of new projects;
    • Participate in process improvements, Development and Technical Support;
    • Maintain a clean workstation, tools, and production floor;
  • Perform other tasks as required.
